Realistic head model
One of Curry’s most powerful features is its capability toconstruct a realistic head model from individualized anatomical information found in MRI and CT. The process of creating a realistic head model is highly automated (Macro Recorder). First, MRI slices are read, and an isotropic 3D MRI data set is generated. This isotropic data set is then used for identifying (segmenting) surfaces such as the cortex and the skin. These surfaces are used to create a Boundary Element Model, the volume conductor that models the conductive properties of the tissues in the head.
Curry can also utilize a simple multi-
Clear visualization of results
Curry allows clear visualization of results since the isotropic 3D MRI data set and the segmented surfaces are used to create images as well. This allows for visual inspection of
the brain surface and presentation of the outcome of reconstruction algorithms in realistic and comprehensive 3D-
Volumetric measurements are supported as well.
Anatomical and functional/ anatomical constraints
Anatomical and functional/anatomical information can be used to constrain reconstruction algorithms.
Source locations or distributions to be reconstructed can in most cases be constrained to a given (i.e. segmented) surface. Also, source locations or distributions can be constrained to be within a given region based on functional areas identified in fMRI or another functional imaging modality. Weighting factors can also be applied so sources are more likely to be found within the defined region, but they also can be found outside the region. If justified by a-
Numerous source models
A variety of standard source models are offered, and a number of new models are also included. These include the equivalent current dipole (single, mirrored, multiple, moving, fixed), deviation scan, MUSIC, and Cortical Current Imaging or current density analysis.
